LMA PacMed and LMA NZ announce the launch of LMA Supreme™ in 1.5 and 2.5 sizes to complete the full range of its market-leading second generation Supraglottic Airway Device.
As with all LMA Supreme™ products the new paediatric sizes feature the preformed evolution curve to assist insertion and a gastric access lumen to isolate the respiratory and gastric tracts to protect from the risk of aspiration due to regurgitation. The devices also feature an integral bite block and a fixation tab to allow secure placement and protect the integrity of its proprietary Second Seal™ with the oesophageal sphincter.
As concluded in the NAP4 report from the Royal College of Anaesthetists and Difficult Airway Society second generation SADs such as LMA Supreme™ offer benefits over first generation non-gastric access devices.
